Azil Insurance

Selling cover end to end in the browser

Azil takes a customer from quote to purchased policy without leaving the browser — across every class of cover the agency writes — on the engine that also serves its brokers and agents.

The problem

Most insurance websites stop at the quote. The customer enters their details, receives a number, and is then handed to a person to actually buy anything — which is where the majority of them leave. Adding a second channel usually makes it worse: the direct site and the broker channel end up as separate systems holding separate versions of the same book.

  • 01 Quotation that produces a number but cannot complete a sale
  • 02 Purchase requiring a handover to a human at exactly the point of highest intent
  • 03 Each distribution channel accumulating its own system and its own data
  • 04 Cover types configured separately for each channel that sells them
02

What we built

A distribution surface over a single policy engine. Rating, quotation, purchase and policy issue run as one continuous flow, and the same engine serves the broker and agent surfaces — so a new channel is a new front end, not a new system to reconcile.

  • 01 Rating, quotation and purchase for every cover type the agency writes
  • 02 Policy issued directly from the completed purchase, with no manual re-entry
  • 03 Payment rails wired to the policy being bought
  • 04 Broker, agent and direct surfaces drawing on one shared book
  • 05 Product-line differences modelled centrally rather than per channel
03

The result

What the business can do that it could not before.

01

The sale completes online

A customer who wants to buy can finish, instead of being handed to a callback queue at the point they were most likely to convert.

02

One book, several channels

Direct, broker and agent business lands on the same policy engine, so growing distribution does not create a reconciliation problem.

03

New products reach every channel at once

Because product lines are modelled centrally, adding cover does not mean implementing it separately for each surface.

04

Issuance is not re-keyed

The policy is created from the purchase that generated it, which removes a manual step and the errors that come with it.
